The Society for the Study of Pregnancy and Birth (SSPRB) held its 2025 Virtual Symposium this past April and has recently published videos of the individual talks. This is a talk that I gave as part of the event. My talk, which was titled “Natality as a Philosophy of Rebirth,” includes a discussion and many images related to the study of pregnancy, birth, natality, rebirth, and rites of passage.

The talk represents both a coalescence and a history of how the topics of birth and rebirth became a part of my personal and academic lives.
