Over the years, Dr. Richard Hecht, Professor of Religious Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), has been one of the Visualizing Birth blog’s strongest supporters. The Department of Religious Studies recently held an online Zoom celebration in Richard’s honor following Richard’s announcement of his retirement after forty-six years at UCSB. 

Invited to speak at the celebration, I created a short video for Richard, which explains aspects of his importance to my life and work, including the impact his support has had on my study of birth and art. I’m adding a link to the video as Visualizing Birth’s final post of 2020:
